Kompozition appoint John Seagrott as Chief Product Officer (CPO).
Kompozition is pleased to appoint John Seagrott as Chief Product Officer (CPO) to help scale their Definition Operations (DefOps) Platform as they enter a global market.
The appointment supports expansion into the United States following strong growth and Defence adoption in Australia.
Sydney, Australia – 24 March 2026 – Kompozition has appointed John Seagrott as Chief Product Officer (CPO), marking a key step in the company’s next phase of growth as it expands into the United States and continues to build on its work across Defence in Australia.
As a member of the original research group that invented Behaviour Modeling Language, Seagrott brings more than 20+ years of experience across software engineering, systems engineering, and test and evaluation, primarily in Defence and mission-critical environments. He joins the executive team at a time when Kompozition is scaling its DefOps platform and increasing its international presence.
Most recently, Seagrott served as Kompozition’s Technical Director, where he helped shape the Kompozition platform and supported the delivery of complex programs within the Australian Defence Force. Prior to that, he held senior roles at xAmplify Services, leading teams delivering large-scale technical programs, including GPU-as-a-Service deployments and private cloud infrastructure across Defence environments. John also led a national practice, Requirements Quality Assurance (RQA), leveraging his experiences to help at AccessHQ an established performance testing capability within Defence organisations.
“John has been instrumental in shaping our platform and how it is applied in some of the most complex environments we operate in today,” said Michael Ninness, Chief Executive Officer of Kompozition. “As we expand into the United States and build on our strong foundation in Australia, his appointment ensures our product continues to evolve in line with real operational needs, not theory.”
In his new role, Seagrott will lead product strategy and guide the continued evolution of the platform, working closely with engineering, customers, and partners to ensure it reflects how organisations actually operate.
“The challenge in complex programs isn’t building systems, it’s ensuring everyone shares a clear understanding of needs, and how those needs manifest as systems they are meant to operate within,” said John Seagrott, CPO at Kompozition. “Kompozition brings that clarity through Definition Operations. As we expand into the United States, my focus is on continuing to evolve the platform so it reflects real operational complexity and delivers outcomes customers can trust.”
“What stands out about Kompozition is its ability to bridge theory and real-world application. In complex environments like Defence, that connection is critical,” said Professor Kumudu Munasinghe, Head of School, Information Technology Systems and Engineering at the University of Canberra. “The University of Canberra is Australia’s first strategic partner embedding Kompozition across both academic programs and short courses (Foundations of Mission Engineering and the Cyber domain), enabling truly applied, mission-driven digital engineering education. This is exactly the kind of capability we see as increasingly important in both research and industry.”
Kompozition has built a strong track record in Australia, supporting Defence organisations and programs where alignment, traceability, and operational clarity are critical to success.
Its Definition Operations platform enables teams to define operational intent, model system behaviour, and align stakeholders around a shared understanding, reducing risk and improving delivery outcomes.
As the company expands into the United States, it is focused on bringing this approach to organisations (including academia, Enterprise, Defence and Defence Industry) facing similar challenges in complexity, integration, and decision-making.
The appointment of Seagrott reflects a continued investment in product leadership to support that growth.
About Kompozition
Kompozition helps organisations understand complex systems before they commit to building or changing them. By modelling how operations actually work, including behaviour, constraints, and dependencies, the platform creates a shared understanding that teams can align around.
This reduces rework, improves decision-making, provides an understanding on the impact of change, and increases confidence in delivery. Kompozition is used across Defence, government, and enterprise environments where complexity, risk, and scale matter.
